Hi! I'm
Kama - Owner of Body & Soul Lifecasting. I currently live in
Centreville, Virginia, with
my husband and children.
I am originally from Leeds,
England, and met my husband while living in Oregon as an au-pair in 1993.
I was first introduced to
lifecasting in 2001 when my daughter was 7 months old. Following instructions I was given,
I dipped her tiny hand in a paper cup filled with alginate,
filled the mold with some plaster of Paris and was amazed at
the result! I realized this was something I could do for other people's
children. Also, it was a great way for me to stay at home with my children
and do
something for myself at the same time. I've been searching for the perfect
creative outlet for a very long time, and I think I may have finally found
it.
Body
& Soul Lifecasting was originally named Emily's Tiny Hands.
I named it after my daughter since she was my inspiration for starting the
business.
Since
then, I've made a lot of changes and improvements, and my skills and
abilities have grown tremendously. The
name just didn't seem appropriate anymore. I came up with Body
& Soul Lifecasting because I believe it is a better representation
of what I can really do now.
